Rohtang Pass

Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass perched on the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. It is at an elevation of 3,978m. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. The Rohtang Pass Permit

To visit Rohtang Pass, a mandatory permit is required to regulate eco-sensitive traffic. It is mandated by the National Green Tribunal. The cost of permit is ₹550 total for cars, jeeps, and motorbikes (₹500 permit fee + ₹50 congestion charge). For buses and heavy motor vehicles, it is ₹600 (₹500 permit fee + ₹100 congestion charge).

Snow Sports and Activities - As the Pass is at high-altitude, it has glaciers and snowy slopes. Here, a traveler can try different activities like skiing, sledding, snow scootering, snowboarding, and sledging.
Trekking - In Rohtang Pass, you can trek for 20km in the Pir Panjal range. The trek goes from Manali through Marhi and then Marhi to Rohtang Pass. The trek itself would take 1-2 days.
