In this tour we will visit Madurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, and Trivandrum. This is a 5 nights 6 days tour to these places and we will visit these places in this tour.
The first city is Madurai, it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in India and it is often referred to as the Athens of the East. Madurai is known for its cultural heritage, temples, and historical monuments. In Madurai, we will visit Meenakshi Amman Temple which is a temple dedicated to Meenakshi Amman who was a warrior and the primary ruler of Madurai. In this temple, prayers and rituals here are offered to Goddess Meenakshi first. Then we will visit Tiruparakkundram temple which is one of the most ancient shrines in Tamil Nadu.
Then we will go to Rameshwaram. It is one of the most sacred destinations in India. It is located in Tamil Nadu. It is not only a major pilgrimage site but also a location tied to the Hindu epic Ramayana. It also has an association with the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Here we will visit the Pamban Bridge which is a rail-and-road link connecting mainland India (Mandapam) to Rameswaram Island.
Next we will visit Agni Theertham which is a holy bathing spot. Then we will visit Ramanandha Swamy Temple, also known as Rameshwaram Temple which is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples in India. Next we will go to Madhana Parvathi Temple which is also known as Gandhamadhana Parvatham. It is a holy hill that is the highest point of the island. The temple has the footprints of Lord Rama. Next is the place called Dhanuskodi, it is an abandoned ghost town and is the end of the Indian mainland. It is also the start of Lord Rama’s bridge to Sri Lanka. Then the last site will be the sea shore temple of Subrahmanyam which is a holy temple that is dedicated to Lord Muruga (Subrahmanyam).
Then we will reach Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari is among the holiest places on Earth. The place has the Kumari Amman Temple which is one of the 108 Shakti Peethas and it dates back more than three thousand years. Here we start by visiting the Vivekananda Rock Memorial which is a famous monument and spiritual landmark. Then we will visit Gandhi memorial which is a tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Next we will visit Devi Kanyakumari Temple which is officially known as Arulmigu Bhagavathy Amman Temple. It marks the very southern tip of mainland India. Then we will visit Kanyakumari Wax Museum which is India’s first wax museum. Lastly we will visit Bay watch amusement park.
The last city of this tour is Trivandrum. It is the capital of Kerala. The name itself translates to "The City of Lord Anantha" in Malayalam. The city is deeply rooted in spirituality. In this city if we have time we will visit Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple which is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams which are considered the sacred sites of the Sri Vaishnava tradition.
